Everton 2019/2020

Everton was founded in 1878 and in 1879 it was got its current name: Everton Football Club. Of all football clubs in England, Everton is the team that played at the highest level the frequenst.

In 1883 Everton moved from a field on Priory Road to Anfield Road (the current stadium of archrival Liverpool). In 1888 it was one of the founders of the Football League and in 1891 Everton became national champion fort he first time.

In 1892, Everton moved from Anfield Road to its current stadium: Goodison Park. That stadium has room for 39 572 spectators.

Everton has a full trophy cabinet including nine country titles, but the last prize dates back to 1995 when both the FA Cup and the Community Shield were captured. In the 1984/1985 season, the club with the nickname 'The Toffees' managed to seize the European Cup II. In the final, Everton defeated Rapid Wien with 3-1.

Last season, Everton finished in eighth place under trainer Marco Silva, which meant that European football just missed out. With internationals such as Yerry Mina, Richarlison and Andre Gomes, Everton hopes to reach the group stage of the Europa League at the end of the season.
